Called condo lawyer this morning.  Still hadn’t heard, though she keeps after them.  I just want my money back.  Disgusted.

I do reviews as a BzzAgent, online.  This time they sent me CoverGirl NatureLuxe makeup to try.  I was a bit leary of using a liquid makeup on my old woman face, but I have to say, it did not accentualte my lines, and I got a great compliment.  Hubby, who hates makeup, couldn’t tell I was wearing  anything, but did notice the circles under my eyes didn’t look as bad as usual.  (Perhaps I should try sleep too.)  Covergirl has always been my go to brand for drug tore cosmetics.  I always use their professional waterproof mascara, and I love their ageless makeup.  You really can’t go wrong.

We don’t usually do Easter, so we went to Chili’s for their special yesterday. I know a lot of people complain about Chili’s, but we ate good.We had loaded fries, bacon on the side, because Hubby doesn’t like it.  Lots of jalapenos.  The margaritas were terrific..  They were out of margarita glasses so gave us full water glasses.  Probably double size.  I was happy.  Hubby, who doesn’t usually drink anything beside beer really liked his too.  Then I had ribs, and Hubby had a big bacon-burger (bacon on the side, for me, again) and they actually made it as rare as he likes it.  Both came with a load of good, but not the best  fries.  I wil have half the ribs and fries for lunch today.  Dessert was molten lava cake with a large ball of Magic Shell covered ice cream on top, and a fudge sauce.  Really good.  I came home stuffed and smiling.

My lawyer never got back to me yesterday, so I called her this morning.  The other lawyer never got back to her yesterday, so she called this morning, and they’re closed.  Probably a Good Friday thing.  Won’t hear till Monday.

Just got the word that Hubby will be laid off for the summer.  I can’t do another 3 months of 24/7, so I’m going to start job hunting for him.

Buzz, Baragains, Coupon & Freebie

I got a call call from the condo lawyer yesterday.  NOW, that I want my deposit back, Wells Fargo wants to close on the condo.  I’m beginning to wonder if it’s really Wells Fargo, or the seller’s real estate compny causing all the problems, but, I’ve heard that Wells Fargo is screwing everyone, not just me, and not just short sales.  I still don’t know if the seller agreed to my terms about the furniture and appraisal.  Should get an answer later.

Went to the doctor.  I don’t have bronchiatis, I have sinus and ear infections.  On an antibiotic, and do seem to feel a bit better today, but didn’t sleep last night.  At 2:30 am I was making turkey salad.  Finall, fell asleep around 5am, after taking an Alavert,  and woke up at 9.  Now I think I”m too tired to cough.

Since Hubby took yesterday off from work (has to use up personal days before May ends), I got to go food shopping.  I have loads of zucchini and eggplant, got a couple beautiful suntan bell peppers, and some salad makings.

Tax return still isn’t done, but my preparer said I shouldn’t be penalized since I did submit it on time. We shall see.

Sorry about yesterday.  Blowing my nose too much to type.  Going to the doctor today.  May have bronchiatis again, with my cold.  Hubby is sick too, and Ray doesn’t seem to be feeling well, but it may be that he’s insulted because I’m trying not to breathe on him.

Tax craziness.  For the first time, I owed, because I sold my IRA’s for the condo I’m probably not getting.  My tax person sent it to IRS twice, and it bounced both times.  I hope I”m not going to end up with late charges.  UGH!

Just a quick video (rom my cousin), and I”ll try to get back with more after the doctor.

Buzz & Bargains

I had a pretty nice weekend.  Saturday my daughter was out here to go bridesmaid dress shopping.  She got a nice one, even reuseable.  Anyway, spent Satuarday night here, and then we headed into Brooklyn to celebrate my sister’s and my birthdays at a nice restaurant in Park Slope.  It’s called Side Car, and when my daughter dropped a lens cover from her camera, the staff were crawling around under tables looking for it.  Darn thing rolled into another booth.  Anyway, I gave a huge (over 30%) tip.  The food was good, and they went above and beyond.  Then we went back to my daughter’s apartment where we had birthday cake and song.  Sadly, my BIL wasn’t feeling well and didn’t come.  He missed a nice time.  Anyway, tonight starts Passover, and I have two partial birthday cakes, a package of Enermann’s eclairs, and a big bag of rolls.  Timing is everything.

Brought the Forester in to check why the poor gas mileage on Saturday.  They did all the electronic tests and said it’s perfect.  Perhaps if I was rich and didn’t care about the environment.  If it doesn’t improve over the next couple of fill ups, I may trade it.

Birthday Summary

I had a lovely birthday.  My daughater called several times to keep me company.  Also sent me a humongo Mrs Field’s birthday cookie that could feed a small nation, with cute ducks.  Car salesperson said to bring the car in Saturday to hvave it checked.  Didn’t sound real positive, but better than nothing.  Real estate agent called and offered to help with new appreaisal costs.  Hubby’s OT was cancelled, and I got to spend some of my birthday with a featherless biped, and he got me a great present, and cake.  Actually, all on his own, Hubby had decided to get me cookbooks.  Unfortunately, so did I, and got the ones I wanted before he could.  When my daughter bawled me out, I told him not to get me anything else.  These were his idea, and I’d consider them my birthday present from him.   (cat cuddle break)   Anyway, he , who hates shopping for me becaue it leads him to scary places,  and in this case I feel the journey was definitely part of the gift, went into Williasn-Sonoma all by himself and bought me a food mill I’ve been wanting (my little bird must have told him).   I am positive he had no previous knowledge of what this is, and it must have been quite an experience forhim.  I’m really proud of him for braving the mall for me.  I think he was proud too.   He also got me the yummiest Oreo cake.  Big layers of chocolate cake with whipped cream between the layers, covered with whipped cream, chocolate dust and Oreos.  Waaay too good.  Earalier in the day I make myself a grilled muenster with tomato, cilantro and Cajun seasoning for lunch, and angel hair pasta with shrimp and garlic for dinner.  I had dinner alone because I thouight Hubby was working, so made a dish he doesn’t ear.  When I found out he was coming home, I made rice to go with the Thai-ish peanut ginger chicken I made the other day.  He reaslly liked it, so didn’t mind having it again.  It was a nice night, and he even did the dishes.  Good Hubby!
