I think you know I’m sort of addicted to programs that do fun things to photos.  Today Giveawayoftheday.com has a good one  Sketch Drawer, by SoftOrbits.,  http://www.softorbits.com/photo-to-sketch-converter/.

Thought I’d share with you.  Some people had trouble with activating.  Mine went through one-two-three.  Some had it crash during photo process.  Mine didn’t.  I have a Win7 64 OS, and I had no trouble with the program other than it not fitting in my screen right, so I had to move it around.  Because of my poor vision, I have different settings.  Anyway, go grab it.  It’s as nice program.  I’m going to go play now.

I saw sun yesterday afternoon for about a half hour.  Hate all this gloominess.  Makes me want to just curl up and sleep.  Does the weather effect you like that, or is it just me?

I keep having nightmares about bad things happening to Ray-Ray, though in last night’s, he was a German Shepherd.  They say that if you dream someone dies it means they’re going to have a long life.  I sure hope so.  BTW my Rags was a German Shepherd who died mysteriously when she was 14.  All very strange and depressing.

A real good one from Giveawayoftheday.com today.  Zoner Photo Studio 14 Pro.  If you’re not sure, read the reviews from people who actually know, (unlike myself), a lot about software.

I’m not sure how I got on Jif’s mailing list, but I got this recipe from them,.  I roast my own peppers once a week (so yummy on sandwiches).  I think I’ll try this.

Creamy Peanut Butter and Roasted Red Pepper Macaroni
  • No-Stick Cooking Spray
  • 2 (12 oz.) cans Evaporated Milk
  • 1/2 cup Creamy Peanut Butter
  • 2 cups shredded aged white cheddar cheese
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
  • 3/4 teaspoon smoked paprika, divided
  • 1/3 cup jarred roasted red peppers, drained and diced
  • 3 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
  • 4 cups cooked elbow macaroni (2 cups dry)

  • 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
    1. HEAT oven to 350°F. Coat 1-1/2 quart oval casserole dish with no-stick cooking spray. Bring evaporated milk to a simmer in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add peanut butter, cheddar cheese, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper and 1/2 teaspoon paprika. Whisk until cheese is melted and sauce is smooth. Stir in red pepper and chives.
    2. COMBINE cheese sauce and cooked macaroni, stirring to coat. Place in prepared dish. Combine bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, oil and remaining 1/4 teaspoon paprika in small bowl with a fork until crumbly. Sprinkle evenly over top of macaroni mixture.
    3. BAKE 20 to 22 minutes or until bubbly and light golden brown. Let rest 10 minutes before serving.

Personally, I love my My Cafe from Bunn, and use Melitta pods with it, as they are strong enough for a full mug, but, if you’re a K-Cup person, this is a great deal from MyPoints.com on a limited edition Keurig.

L’Shanah Tovah to my friends and family observing Rosh Hashanah.

Do you belong to MyPoints.com?  I fairly regularly earn enough points to get free giftr cards.  Generally I get restaurant ones.  Makes me feel like I’ve earned a treat.  Anyway, I want to applaud their customer service.  HSN apparently doesn’t send them the info to credit my account when I make purchases from them.  I recently had three purchases that weren’t credited.  One of them, a biggie, I worked out with HSN.  MyPoints took care of the other two within 24 hours, (which started on a Sunday).  I really appreciate good customer servicer.  There’s another one I have to wait another week on.  We shall see if HSN steps up.

Giveawayoftheday.com has a nice photo editing program today.  Visually it’s not for me with my poor vision, and it has a large footprint.  One of the commenters suggested this free program, which I downloaded through CNet, so I felt safe about it.  http://www.funny-photo-maker.com/.  A couple of examples:

You know I’m a BzzAgent and review products they give me for free.  I have two today

1 – I am totally in love with Covergirl in general, but I will definitely keep purchasing these products, COVERGIRL & Olay Tone Rehab 2-in-1 Foundation and COVERGIRL & Olay Pressed Powder.  My husband (see $2 bill) hates makeup.  He couldn’t tell (perhaps someone more observant could) I was wearing these, and told me how good I looked the first time I wore them.  He doesn’t usually comment on how I look.  Major thumbs up.  My daughter (beer glass), who usually notices everything, came out to visit and almost immediately told me how good my skin looked, not my makeup, my skin.  Another thumbs up.  This makeup doesn’t settle in your nooks and crannies (or if you’re not an English Muffin, wrinkles), and really smooths out your skin tone.  I’m a believer.

2 –  I was sent coupons for free Glade Expressions room fresheners.

I had a hard time finding them.  I went to two different Walmarts and neither had them.  A local supermarket didn’t either.  I went to Pathmark in Port Jefferson and found them both there, but a prices higher than my free coupons allowed.  Being a good little bargain hunter, I was prepared.  I’d downloaded a coupon online for $2 off two glade purchases.  I did get them for free (if you disregard the price of gas).

I love the look and the scent of the oil diffuser starter kit in pineapple mangosteen.  I wish the scent spread out more, but that’s true of all diffusers I’ve used.  My livingroom is large, and I might want to have two going at once.  Very pretty and pleasant.

The Glade Experssions starter kit comes with an elegantly shaped white squeeze sprayer.  I got it in cotton & Italian mandarin.  I’m using that in the bathroom, where a squeeze will be more often desirable.  It’s also a pleasant scent which I’d prefer with more mandarin, but that’s just a matter of personal taste.  It does the job.

The cortisone shot may have helped a bit.  I can lift my arm a bit higher, but not without pain.  Sudden moves are not a good thing.  I’m guessing it will get a bit better.  I sure hope so.  I never want to have surgery again.

Still haven’t heard from lawyer.  Wrote and called the managing office of my old apartment about my deposit which has not yet been returned.  No response.    Life as usual.

This is my very favorite utilities program, from GiveAwayOfTheDay.com.  I’ve been using versions for quite a few years, and haven’t found anything better.  Remember, you have to download it today.

Download Day

By the time Hubby got home from his 6 hour class (driving thing for discount on insurance), he was really tired.  Worked till midnight the night before, and hadn’t gotten much sleep.  Never got to condo.  Hope it, sans woman with chicken leg, is still there.  Going early today.  Since I’ve been up since 3:30 am, it should be a fun day.

Giveawayoftheday.com has two good ones today.

The game has a bit of a footprint, but looks different and fun.  I haven’t tried it.  Game Giveaway of the Day – Tunes Jungle Adventure

The children’s photo/paint type program looks to be good, but people have had trouble activating it.  Read comments 10 and 11 for advice.  Giveaway of the Day – free licensed software daily. ArcSoft PhotoStudio Paint – ArcSoft PhotoStudio Paint is creative softwar…

Buzz & Game Giveaway

Went to the condo yesterday with our HandyFrank.  We’ve decided (at his insistance) to put down Prego flooring in the livingroom, and then use area rugs.  He’ll be doing the work.  He said it should come to less than what I priced carpet at.  I’ll leave the carpet in the bedrooms, but do the livingroom and two small foyer areas.  He”ll be extending the short shelves in the pantry area around (grrrr) wall oven.  The shelves only go half the depth.  Odd.  brought a dish towel, roll of toilet paper, and garbage can, and shelves I have to put together for the garage.  Even though we won’t close till Tuesday, it’s beginning to seem more real.  I”m not supposed to be going in there till I close, but they still think I closed yesterday.  Bad me!

Today’s giveawayoftheday.com game is Egyptoid 2.  I rcommended the older version a short time ago, but just downloaded this longer, 3-D version.  It doesn’t automatically make a shortcut, so note where you download it to.

Game Giveaway of the Day – Egyptoid 2

Have a great weekend!
