Totally schizzing out, so forgive any days I take off.  Yesterday I found out I need a new title search.  Everything is becoming so expensive.  What the hell am I doing?????  Spoke to my mortgage broker, and apparently it will cost me a third of the cost of the condo to close, only 20% of which is my down payment.  This is crazy.  I”m so thinking of backing out.  Wish I knew someone who knows about this stuff.  Any advice?

Apparently it’s pancake month.  Wonder if this includes banana pecan.

I have to give 30 days notice for my apartment, and nobody seems to know when we’ll close.  Scary at best.  Super stressed.

I got a 2 lb package of Muenster cheese at Sam’s over the weekend.  It at gone up $3 since 2 weeks ago.  Milk and half & half went up a lot too.  With gas prices going down, I don’t get it.  Seems someone thinks if it’s a product we need (milk), it doesn’t matter how much they charge, we’ll buy it.  Great mentality.  Did you know that during WW II, in Germany there was a milk shortage, and they gave the babies beer, which apparently, and I don’t know why, has all the nutrients they need.  Wondering if  we should try it,  though not necessarily with babies.  Might make for a happier middle class.

Trying to think of something interesting to tell you.  After spending the whole week sitting in the house I can’t think of much.  Haven’t even really cooked.  Sam’s had a demo of a spaghetti sauce brand, Bea’s, Brooklyn’s Best, a couple of weeks ago and it was terrific.  We bought the Marinara and Roasted Garlic.  I rarely buy sauce since it’s so easy to make, but liked these a lot.   Anyway, last night I heated up some mixed with a 1/4 bag or frozen ranch style vegetables, and we had it over shells.  Yummy, and totally minimal work.

Is it too soon to complain  that I hate being stuck in the house all day?  Probably.  Therefore, I’ll wait.

Yesterday was my first experience with quinoa.  I’m still having trouble saying it right, but treated it as a rice pilaf, and it seemed to work.   When Hubby got home from work, I sautéed leftover rotisserie chicken curt into strips, in olive oil, seasoned with Cajun seasoning & soy sauce, and added onions and yellow peppers.  I didn’t taste it, but Hubby thought it was great over the quinoa.  Healthier than brown rice or whole wheat pasta.

How about that Irene?  Holding us hostage till she decides where she wants to land.  My daughter got us our annual Long Island Ducks tickets for Hubby’s birthday, and we were supposed to go Saturday night.  Doubt that will happen, and that’s sad.  I’m inland, so my big worry is losing power.  We were out for 11 Days afterGloria (9/25/86).

Oh, recently discovered that Costco’s own paper towels are just as thick and thirsty as my long time companion Bounty, and several dollars less expensive.  No pick-a-size though.

Gotta use this one fast.  Expires on Sunday.

I’m not crazy about the name, but this is a nice little grill cookbook to download.

Weberwants to help us ladies become master’s of the barbecue. They are offering you a free guide featuring everything you need to know about grilling on your barbecue.

The guide features everything from grilling basics, practicing safe sizzle to creating the perfect grilled Sweet Potato and Ginger Soup.

I’m pretty useless when it comes to my barbecue, I would love to be able to perfect the grilled steak!

Who says the man has to do the barbecuing? Maybe this could be the start of a friendly grill off. ;)

Used my free meal at iHop coupon yesterday.  Hope you take advantage of it.  I had the, ahem, senior pot roast which came with wonderful garlic bread, mashed potatoes, and corn.  Can we say carb friendly?  It was a pretty good meal (once they heated it up) for free.

You know how I feel about Wells Fargo. I ‘ve been reading a thread on Amazon about them.  Only one person doesn”t hate them, and I can’t help feeling they paid her to say so.

I made Buffalo wings last night.  Saving fats by substituting broth for some of the butter should be considered a crime.  (won’t do that again)  If you’re going to clog your arteries, commit.  Okay, don’t.  I got a little carried away.

Don’t know why I need more competition, but everyone should get a chance to win this.  I think of it as the Cabbage Patch Car.
